This is the CDV 57, and every controller is different
On other Daitsu controllers — the CDV-46, the CDV 59 Hydrobox, the WC5/WC6 — the buttons and the display are different. If yours doesn't look like the one in the video, get its own manual, or write to us and we'll tell you which one you have.

The Daitsu CDV 57 controller
This is the Daitsu CDV 57 wired controller. It controls your domestic hot water and underfloor heating.
The eight buttons
It has eight buttons in two rows. On top: ENTER CANCEL, TIMER, the up arrow and MODE.
Switching between hot water and underfloor heating
The first function in the manual is switching between hot water and underfloor heating. Use the WATER AC FLOOR button.
Switching hot water on and off
Second function: switching the hot water on and off. Use the ON OFF button.
Setting the hot-water temperature
Third function: setting the hot-water temperature. With hot water running, use the arrows.
Switching underfloor heating on and off
Fourth function: switching the underfloor heating on and off. This also uses ON OFF, but from the underfloor-heating screen.
Setting the underfloor-heating temperature
Fifth function: underfloor-heating temperature. Use the arrows again; each press changes it by one degree.
The child lock
And the last everyday function: the child lock, shown by the padlock.
You have the essentials
That is everything you need for everyday use. The other functions in the manual are installer settings and should be left to the technician.

What we do not do
And so there are no surprises, here is what we do not do: we do not provide emergency call-outs. We work by appointment so we can do the job properly, without rushing.

Frequently asked questions
What we get asked most about this controller
How do I turn up the hot water temperature on the CDV 57?
From the domestic hot water menu on the controller itself, without touching the unit. The video shows it step by step with the display in front of you. If you turn it up and notice no difference, it usually means the cylinder is asking for more than the heat pump can give at that moment — not that the controller is faulty.
Can I go into the installer parameters?
You can get in, but you shouldn't change anything. That's where the heating curves and the heat pump protections live, and a badly configured machine works harder and fails sooner. What's yours are the modes, the temperature and the schedules.
There's a code on the display and I don't know what it means
We cover the CDV 57 error codes one by one in another video. The first thing to check is whether the unit is still running or has stopped: a warning and a lockout are not the same thing.
Will this work for my heat pump?
The CDV 57 is fitted to Daitsu heat pumps with domestic hot water and underfloor heating. We install and service them in Mallorca every day. If you don't know which controller you have, send us a photo of the display and we'll tell you.
