Solar and heat pump grants in Mallorca 2026
We're Joaquín and Juan, and we've been handling grants for our customers since 1998. Here we explain, honestly and without copying the "50% for all of Mallorca" you read on the blogs, which grants actually exist in 2026: FOTOPAR, FACTOR, the IRPF income-tax deduction and the IBI rebate in your town. And if you decide to go ahead, we handle the paperwork for you.

No grant is guaranteed: they are awarded first come, first served and until the funds run out. We prepare the paperwork and, with your authorisation, file it; the one who awards it is the administration. If anyone promises you a signed grant up front, be suspicious.
And the ones that no longer exist, in case you've heard of them
- Next Generation (RD 477/2021): the deadline ended on 31 December 2023 and the funds are exhausted. No new applications.
- MOVES III for a home charger: the Balearic MOVES III 2025 call closed on 31 December 2025 (procedure marked "Closed" on the CAIB portal) and there is no 2026 call: 31 December 2026 is only the completion deadline for grants already awarded. Today the charger goes through FACTOR.
Solar PV + batteries
FOTOPAR 2026 (solar panels and batteries)
This is the Balearic Government's regional grant for solar PV self-consumption and batteries for individuals in the Balearics. It covers around €600/kWp installed (more if it's a shared installation) plus a share for each kWh of battery, with a cap per home. It's awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funds run out. The 2026 call closed to new applications on 30 April 2026 (CAIB e-office, procedure 6439804) and the June budget top-up did not reopen it. The 2027 call is already fixed: applications from 26 January to 30 April 2027 or until that year's 2 million euros run out, and you must apply before the work starts. Applicants must be domiciled in the Balearic Islands; if it is your holiday home, ask us about your case.

Heat pump and EV charger
FACTOR 2026 (heat pump, batteries, EV charger)
The FACTOR 2026 call funds heat pumps at 70% for individuals, counting at most €1,000/kWt of output (plus €450/kWt if a new distribution system is also fitted) and capped at €25,000 per installation; the electric-vehicle charger at 70%, capped at €2,500 for individuals; and batteries at 45%, counting at most €910/kWh up to 10 kWh. Watch out for a detail many people get wrong: solar PV for individuals doesn't go through FACTOR, it goes through FOTOPAR, whose 2026 call closed on 30 April 2026 (the 2027 call opens on 26 January 2027). That's why it pays to have an installer look at it: each technology has its own grant and its own paperwork. And two requirements few people mention: you must be domiciled in the Balearic Islands (if it is your holiday home, ask us about your case), and FACTOR and FOTOPAR cannot both be claimed for the same work. Work by an individual started from 1 January 2026 qualifies, and the budget is about 4.1 million euros for the whole of the Balearics.

On your tax return
IRPF income-tax deductions
Beyond the grant, you can deduct on your IRPF income-tax return. There is a state deduction for works that improve energy efficiency (20%, 40% or 60% depending on the case, and the deadlines are not the same: the 20% and the 40% only cover works carried out up to 31 December 2026, on your main home or on a home you let; only the 60%, for the refurbishment of a whole building, runs to 31 December 2027) and a Balearic regional deduction of 50% (with an annual cap on the base) for installing renewable energy in your main home. Whether they can be added together must be confirmed in your case (the regional rule does not say), and any grant you receive is subtracted from the base of the deduction. The regional one also has income limits (a taxable base of up to €33,000 in an individual return or €52,800 in a joint one, under article 3 of Legislative Decree 1/2014) and requires the before and after certificates to be registered. It requires the energy performance certificate.
And since 2026 there is a new deduction for installing self-consumption, with no energy certificate required: 10% of what you pay if the installation is on a property you own, or 20% if your home is in a predominantly residential building, on a maximum base of €5,000 per year. It can include the battery. Three conditions are worth being clear about: the installation must be finished in 2026, by 31 December at the latest (signing the contract is not enough), and only what you pay between 1 January and 31 December 2026 counts; payment must be by bank —cash does not qualify— and you need the Electrical Installation Certificate (CIE), which we issue for you. It cannot be combined with the 20/40/60% deduction on the same installation: you have to choose whichever suits you best, and we work that out for you in the study.

Each town, its own rules
IBI rebate by municipality
The IBI rebate for solar panels is set by each town council, so there is no single figure for Mallorca. Current official rules confirm 25% for 6 tax periods in Palma and 50% for 3 periods in Calvià. For other municipalities, we check the current bylaw before confirming the percentage, duration and requirements.
You sign, we do the paperwork
We handle the paperwork for you
We prepare all the technical paperwork and, with your authorisation, we take care of filing and justifying the grant and of registering the installation with the Industry department, on time and done properly. You sign the application with your digital certificate and the grant is paid into your bank account. Income-tax deductions are claimed by you in your Spanish tax return, using the invoices and certificates we hand over. That said, let's be clear: approval always depends on the administration and on funds still being available; nobody honest can "guarantee" you a grant. Common questions
Frequently asked questions about the grants
Can I combine FOTOPAR with the IRPF deduction?
Yes, but they don't simply add up. The regional grant (FOTOPAR for solar PV, FACTOR for heat pumps) and the IRPF income-tax deductions are separate incentives that can coexist, but any grant you receive is subtracted from the base of the deduction, and the energy-efficiency works deduction (additional provision 50 of the IRPF Act) and the self-consumption deduction (additional provision 62) cannot be applied to the same installation. Does the heat pump fall under FOTOPAR?
No. FOTOPAR 2026 is for solar PV and batteries. Heat pumps for individuals go through the FACTOR 2026 call, which funds them at 70%, counting at most €1,000/kWt (plus €450/kWt if the distribution system is also new) and capped at €25,000 per installation. Applicants must be domiciled in the Balearic Islands. That is exactly why it pays to have an installer look at it: each technology has its own grant.
Can you guarantee I'll be awarded the grant?
We can't, and anyone who promises it isn't being honest. We prepare the paperwork and, with your authorisation, file it correctly and on time, but approval always depends on the administration and on funds still being available. What we do guarantee is doing the paperwork properly so you have every option.
What IBI rebate do I get in my town?
It depends on each town council, because every municipal bylaw sets its own solar IBI rebate. Palma's current ordinance grants 25% for six tax periods and Calvià grants 50% for three periods (art. 6.5 of its IBI bylaw). In other municipalities, we check the current bylaw before confirming the percentage, duration and requirements.
How long is left to apply for the grants?
Deadlines change with each call and grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funds run out. That's why it pays not to leave it to the last minute. FOTOPAR 2026 closed on 30 April 2026, and FACTOR 2026 accepts applications until 28 February 2027 or until the budget runs out (BOIB no. 83, 2 July 2026). FOTOPAR 2027 accepts applications from 26 January to 30 April 2027 (BOIB no. 171, 25 December 2025), and you must apply before the work starts. Ask us and we'll tell you whether you're in time.
