Why go solar

Benefits of solar panels in Mallorca

Mallorca gets some of the most sun in Europe — over 2,700 hours a year — so going solar pays off here like almost nowhere else.

Cut your bill

Drastically reduce what you pay for electricity by using the energy you produce yourself. The savings start in the first month.

We handle your grants

FOTOPAR 2026 grant from the Balearic Government, income-tax (IRPF) deduction and property-tax (IBI) rebate. We take care of all the paperwork.

Energy at night too

With lithium batteries you store the day's sun to use it at night, gaining real independence from the grid.

Clean energy

Generate your own electricity with no emissions. You increase your property's value and improve its energy certificate.

Legalised installation

DC protections, residual-current device, solar cabling and certificate. Legalised with the authority and ready for surplus compensation.

Maintenance and warranty

As a certified company we give you an official warranty and a maintenance service so your installation performs for decades.

Before you decide

How solar self-consumption works in Mallorca

It's pretty simple: the solar panels take the sunlight and turn it into electricity for your home or business. While the sun's up, you run on what you make yourself instead of buying it from the utility. And with the sun we get here, a well-angled install covers a good chunk of your daytime use from day one.

Surplus compensation: you get paid for the energy you don't use

And the bit you make but don't use? It doesn't go to waste. That surplus goes back to the grid and your supplier knocks it off your bill (that's the surplus compensation scheme). In plain English: the kWh you send out during the day come off the ones you use at night. It's not a cheque in the post, but it brings your monthly bill down even more.

With or without batteries

Without batteries you use the sun as you make it and compensate the rest — it's the simplest setup and the easiest on the wallet. With lithium batteries you bank the daytime sun for the evening, and that's when you're properly off the grid (and covered when the power goes out). If you're out in the country or you use a lot at night, a battery usually pays for itself; we'll put real numbers to it in the survey, for your case.

Real numbers

How much do you save with solar panels in Mallorca?

It depends on what you use, how your roof faces and the size you go for, but the ballpark is clear: a properly sized system shaves on average 50-70% off your electricity bill. If you're paying around €100 a month right now, that's hundreds of euros a year staying in your pocket.

Payback: when you recover the investment

A typical home install in Mallorca runs from about €4,000 to €9,000 before grants, depending on the size and whether it has batteries. Between the bill savings and the subsidies, you get it back in 5 to 8 years. After that, the power you make is practically free for the rest of the panels' life — and they go well past 25 years with the maker's production warranty.

Before we fit a thing, we'll give you a free study with real figures for your place: what you'll generate, what you'll save a year, which grants you qualify for and how long until it pays back. No obligation, no small print.

For every case

Types of solar panel installation

We design every project to measure, wherever it is and whatever it is for.

Grid-connected home

Domestic self-consumption with surplus compensation. The most common option for houses and villas in Mallorca: maximum savings with the most contained investment.

Off-grid country property

Standalone installations with batteries for rural properties with no grid connection. We design the system to keep a stable supply, year-round.

Business and industry

Warehouses, shops and farms: consumption coincides with the sun hours, so the return on photovoltaics for businesses is especially high.

Block of flats

Collective self-consumption for buildings: a single rooftop installation shared between several homes, cutting the bill for the whole community.

Maximum savings

Combine solar panels with a heat pump

When your heat pump runs on electricity your own panels produce, the savings multiply and grants from both systems can be stacked. Solar + heat pump is the combination that delivers the biggest annual energy-cost reduction in Mallorca. More about heat pumps in Mallorca →

Common questions

Frequently asked questions about solar panels

How much does it cost to install solar panels in Mallorca?

The price depends on the power you need according to your consumption. As a 2026 guideline, a turnkey residential installation runs between €1,100 and €1,500 per kWp, so a typical home ranges from around €4,000 to €9,000 before grants. With Mallorca's 2,700 hours of sunshine a year, it normally pays for itself in 4 to 7 years through the savings on your bill, and sooner if you add the FOTOPAR grant, the income tax deduction and the IBI property tax rebate. We provide a free, no-obligation survey and quote.

What grants and subsidies are available for solar panels in Mallorca?

There is the FOTOPAR 2026 grant from the Balearic Government (600 €/kWp for individual homes) when a call is open, an income-tax (IRPF) deduction for energy-efficiency improvements, and a rebate on the property tax (IBI) depending on the town council. We handle all the paperwork for you. The award depends on each call and on meeting the requirements.

How long does a solar panel installation take?

A residential photovoltaic installation is usually completed in 1-3 working days. We take care of the legalisation with the regional authority and the grant management for you.

Is it worth adding batteries to solar self-consumption?

Batteries let you use at night the energy you generate during the day, gaining independence from the grid. They are especially worthwhile for country properties or homes with high night-time consumption or frequent power cuts. We assess it in the survey for your case.

Do solar panels work in winter or on cloudy days?

Yes. Panels produce with daylight, not only direct sun, so they also generate on cloudy days, though less. In Mallorca, with more than 2,700 hours of sun a year, output is very high even in winter months. The system is sized for your full annual consumption.

Do you speak English?

Yes. We assist you in English, Spanish and German, and we reply the same day to arrange a visit and a quote anywhere in Mallorca.
