The shots come from our own installations in Mallorca. This is what stands behind the pictures.
Traditional clay tile
On traditional Mallorcan clay tile we use specific brackets that bear on the structure and are sealed at each point where they pass through the roof, so the roof stays watertight.
Aluminium structure
Coplanar aluminium rails carry the panels along the pitch of the roof: a sturdy fixing that blends in with the house and offers less surface to the wind.

How a solar array is anchored in Mallorca
Arabic tile: anchoring without wrecking the roof
Mallorcan Arabic tile will not take the standard anchor used on a flat roof. We work with specific brackets that bear on the structure and come out through the tile overlap, with the weatherproofing resolved at every penetration. It is slower and more expensive to install, and that is how we keep a leak from showing up under a panel ten years from now. A leak in a tiled roof costs far more than doing it properly.
Coplanar aluminium mounting
The panels sit coplanar, following the pitch of the roof, on aluminium rails. As well as blending in and not ruining the look of the house, a coplanar array presents far less surface to the wind than one tilted up on triangles. On an island with the winds we get here, that is structural safety, not an aesthetic preference.
Orientation, pitch and shading
There is plenty of sun in the Balearics: the difference between a good array and a mediocre one is shading and how the panels are shared across the roof faces. We look at the chimney, the neighbour's tree and the house next door before laying anything out, because shade on one module can drag down its whole string. We also look at what you need in winter, not just the August peak.
Low voltage and paperwork
A solar array is a low-voltage electrical installation: it is carried out and certified by a licensed low-voltage installer, with its electrical installation certificate. We install it, register it, and handle the grants (the administration decides whether they are awarded); for the property tax (IBI) rebate we prepare the paperwork for your municipality. Equipment carries the statutory three-year guarantee (arts. 115 quater and 120 TRLGDCU) plus the manufacturer warranty.
