Where the outdoor unit goes really matters
The Daitsu heat pump you can see takes its energy from the air, so it needs free air around it and must not end up re-breathing its own discharge. We look for a spot with clearance on all four sides, away from bedroom windows and with a clear run for the condensate. A good machine in a closed corner performs worse than an average one that is properly sited, and that mistake cannot be fixed later without moving the unit again.
Anti-vibration mounts: that is why you cannot hear it
The unit sits on brackets with rubber mounts, decoupled from the building structure. Heat pump noise is hardly ever the fan: it is compressor vibration travelling into the slab, where it turns into a hum inside the house or in the flat next door. Separating the machine from the structure costs very little on installation day and is almost impossible to correct afterwards without stripping the job back.
Copper, insulated and protected
The pipework is insulated and the insulation itself is protected, not left bare outdoors. In Mallorca the sun and the salt air destroy unprotected insulation within a few summers, and once it breaks down you get condensation and lose efficiency along the run. Joints are brazed cleanly and pressure tested before anything is closed up: a refrigerant circuit does not forgive a rushed joint.
Certified, by the right trade
A heat pump is a thermal installation: it is installed and certified by a RITE-registered company, and working on the refrigerant circuit requires F-gas certification. We do the installation and its paperwork, and we handle the grant applications your property qualifies for (the administration decides whether they are awarded). Equipment carries the statutory three-year guarantee (arts. 115 quater and 120 TRLGDCU) plus the manufacturer warranty.
