A whole project, coordinated
Underfloor heating runs on low-temperature water, and that is exactly where a heat pump performs best. They are a natural pair: the smaller the temperature lift the machine has to deliver, the less it consumes. In this house the underfloor loop is not a comfort indulgence — it is the decision that makes the heat pump genuinely pay for itself across a whole winter of bills.
The manifold shares the heating out across independent circuits, one per zone. Each is balanced separately, so the large living room and the small bedroom come up to temperature together instead of competing for flow. It is adjustment work that never looks finished in a photograph, and it is what separates a comfortable house from one with a room that never quite warms up.
Underfloor heating warms beautifully, but cooling in August needs something else. Concealed fan coils deliver that cooling with no radiators or wall units on show, using the same machine and the same water circuit. The house is conditioned all year from a single installation, and inside you cannot see a single unit — only the grilles.
A house like this falls under two different regulations, and it is worth being precise about it. The water-based climate system — underfloor heating, fan coils, plant room — is installed and certified by a RITE-registered company. The solar and storage side is a low-voltage electrical installation with its electrical installation certificate. We hold both, which is why one company coordinates the job instead of three trades blaming each other.
