Your area
The municipality of Andratx, on the western edge of the Serra de Tramuntana, matches the dramatic coastline of its Port and Camp de Mar with the peaceful countryside valley of s'Arracó. It is one of the most exclusive and international regions in Mallorca, renowned for modern architecture villas and premium country fincas.
We know that a solar system in Andratx must not only produce clean energy with the highest possible efficiency offered by the West sun, but it must also respect property aesthetics and architectural design:
In high-end properties in Monport, La Mola or the cliffs around the Port, visual impact is a key factor. We design and install low-profile, coplanar solar structures tailored for modern flat or pitched roofs. We organize the cabling pathways meticulously and select clean-designed Fronius inverters and BYD or Tesla batteries that blend into the home, remaining completely hidden from outdoor lounge and pool spaces.
The valley and rustic areas of s'Arracó and Andratx town feature wonderful country fincas that sometimes face grid instabilities or lack sufficient power supply. For these estates, we build robust hybrid and off-grid solar systems that we program ourselves with hardware like Victron Energy inverter-chargers and modular Pylontech lithium batteries. This keeps a stable, quiet electricity supply running year-round.
Electric mobility is a standard in Andratx. We install smart, high-speed EV charging stations integrated with your solar array. The charger communicates directly with the PV inverter to dynamically modulate the charge based on your roof's solar surplus. This allows you to charge your car for free using the clean energy harvested directly on your property.
Andratx — what you should know
We've been driving up and down to the Port for years, and we'll tell you something straight: in Andratx, copy-and-paste doesn't work. Port d'Andratx — La Mola, Monport, Cala Marmacen — is full of modern villas where people have paid a lot for the view, and the last thing they want is to look out at twenty shiny panels above the deck. And sa Coma Calenta, s'Arracó or the fincas behind Sant Elm is a different world: countryside houses, strong winds off the Port in winter, and on some fincas the nearest transformer is far.
So when you call, the first thing we do is not give you a price. We come up and look. We want to see the roof with our own eyes, check how the afternoon Embat sea breeze hits, see if there are pines on the slope towards Sa Dragonera throwing shifting shade, and understand what you actually use: pool heating, heat pump, the EV charger, the fridge on the boat if you keep one at your mooring.
Flat roofs in the Port want a ballasted coplanar structure — never drill through the waterproofing. We work with concrete ballasts calculated against panel weight and the municipal wind zone. Andratx gets serious Mestral and Tramuntana gusts in winter — it's not Palma. Cut corners and a bad mount sends a panel flying in February. We'd rather spend the time on the calculation and sleep at night.
And so the panels don't shout from the garden or from the boat, we fit them low-profile and fully black: black anodized frame, full-black cells, rear-side connections. From the pool or from Cala Llamp, you don't see them.
In the s'Arracó valley and the fincas towards Camp de Mar or Sant Elm, what people ask us most is independence from the grid. Winter outages, micro-spikes that fry the electronics, or fincas where the utility won't give you more than 4.6 kW.
For those, we build real off-grid systems: Victron MultiPlus-II programmed by hand with charge curves suited to the warm climate, Cerbo GX with the VRM app so you can see on your phone how much battery you have from anywhere, and Pylontech lithium racks in a ventilated cabinet. If the battery is well sized, we don't even leave you a diesel backup — you won't need it any of the 365 days.
In Andratx we see more premium EVs than in any other Mallorcan municipality: Porsche Taycan, Tesla Model S, Audi e-tron GT, BMW iX. Each one has its own charging quirks. We fit a Wallbox or a Simon charger with dynamic load balancing against the solar inverter: the car charges first from the sun, and if the battery is full and there's no sun, it scales the power down so you don't blow the contracted limit.
And if you keep a yacht at the Club de Vela Puerto de Andratx, we can also wire up a charging panel for the tender or the fridge on the boat, fed from the house with your solar surplus. We've done it before.
The Ajuntament d'Andratx gives an IBI property tax rebate for self-consumption under the current ordinance — we file it for you in the same paperwork. But heads-up: along the coast and in protected parts of the Port there are local design requirements that can force a specific layout. We know the rules, we'll tell you what's viable before we start, and we won't sell you a design the town hall later refuses.
How it works
We visit your property in Andratx, examine your roof layout, analyze shading from local pine trees and design a tailored system for your consumption. Absolutely free.
We mount premium hardware with clean cabling, handling the entire registration at the Industry Department and local energy boards.
We prepare and submit the property tax (IBI) reduction file to the Ajuntament d'Andratx and set up your real-time tracking app.

FAQ
Yes. For Port d'Andratx villas we compare at least two viewpoints —pool and terrace— and draw the mounting height and angle before finalising the design. A coplanar or low-profile solution can reduce visual impact, but we do not promise that modules will be invisible from every angle.
Yes. For an off-grid finca in s'Arracó we inventory loads in kWh/day and compare 24 h and 48 h autonomy scenarios before sizing panels, a Victron inverter and battery storage. No off-grid system guarantees unlimited year-round supply: reserve depends on sunlight, usable capacity, starting loads and actual consumption.
Cost varies with capacity, roof, battery and loads; a €5,000-12,000 residential guide must be confirmed by quotation. PVGIS estimates about 1,558 kWh/year per kWp in Andratx at 35° facing south: roughly 4,700 kWh/year for 3 kWp. In that simulation December supplies 88 kWh/kWp, about 54% of July. Payback depends on self-consumption, tariffs, investment and grants actually awarded. Source: PVGIS, European Commission.
Yes. In Andratx we configure single- or three-phase chargers —for example 3.7, 7.4 or 11 kW depending on the installation and vehicle— to modulate charging around solar surplus. Self-consumption reduces grid purchases, but it is not free: investment, losses and hours without generation still apply. Electrical design follows Spain's REBT and ITC-BT-52.
Yes. JSL prepares the technical documents and registers self-consumption under Spain's Royal Decree 244/2019. We can also prepare an Andratx IBI rebate application if the current by-law and property meet its conditions. The council decides eligibility and percentage, so both are checked before quoting and are never guaranteed.
In Port d'Andratx we calculate each structure using the wind actions in Spain's CTE DB-SE-AE and the roof's actual height, exposure and geometry. On a flat roof, ballast and sliding are checked without assuming penetrations can always be avoided; on a pitched roof, fixings must transfer load to the supporting structure, not just the tiles.
It can be assessed if the home and charging point form part of the same authorised installation and there is a compliant cable route. In Port d'Andratx we calculate kW demand, voltage drop, protection and diversity before proposing a tender or battery circuit; a third-party berth cannot simply be connected to the home's solar system.
It depends on level and viewing angle. In Port d'Andratx, La Mola, Monport and Cala Marmacen we can compare full-black modules and coplanar mounting to reduce contrast and height, but we do not promise invisibility. If planning or aesthetic protection applies, we check with the Ajuntament before finalising the design.
