Yes. As an authorised low-voltage installation company we issue the Electrical Installation Certificate (the boletín) and register it with the electronic office of the Govern de les Illes Balears. You need it to connect or increase your power supply, for a change of holder or when the installation is of a certain age.

Usually when contracting or increasing power, for a change of supply holder, after a renovation that alters the installation, or when the utility or the old certificate requires it due to age. One case catches many owners in Mallorca: the Spanish REBT treats a home as high electrification when it exceeds 160 m² of usable floor area, or has air conditioning, electric heating or an EV charging point in a detached house. If you have added air conditioning or a charger, your installation is probably no longer the one your certificate describes. We tell you exactly what your case needs before starting.

Yes. We fit and renew boards with their circuit breakers, RCDs and surge protection, sized to the REBT. In homes we fit high-sensitivity RCDs, which the regulation defines as 30 mA or less: those are the ones that protect the person, not just the installation. We work with leading material such as Schneider Electric, Hager and Legrand.

It is usually an earth leak, a faulty appliance, damp or an old, overloaded installation. An RCD tripping is not an RCD fault: it is the device doing its job, cutting when more than 30 mA escapes to earth. The problem lies downstream, and hunting for it by simply resetting the switch only drags it out. We locate the source with instruments, explain what is happening and leave it solved and safe, with a quote before acting.

Yes. We install and certify electric-vehicle charging points (Wallbox, Simon and other brands) to the REBT (ITC-BT-52), with their certificate and ready for grants. The regulation standardises the charging circuit at 2,300, 3,680, 4,600, 7,360 and 9,200 W, and that last figure is the ceiling for a single-phase circuit: above it you have to go three-phase. That is why the first question is not which charger you want, but how much power you have contracted. We will be glad to advise you on the best option for your home or business.

Yes, and it is worth understanding why. The Royal Decree amending the Spanish REBT has been notified to the European Commission (notification 2025/0417/ES, standstill period closed on 3 November 2025) and is pending publication in the BOE. Its seventh transitional provision gives a two-year deadline to stop installing type AC residual current devices. The reason is not paperwork: a type AC device does not detect DC leakage currents, and today those exist in any house in Mallorca with solar panels, a battery or an EV charger. An RCD that does not detect is an RCD that does not trip.

The same Royal Decree (notification 2025/0417/ES, pending publication in the BOE) brings a new technical instruction, ITC-BT-53, covering direct current installations, which is exactly what sits behind self-consumption and batteries. It also updates ITC-BT-01 to 17, BT-23 and BT-40, and introduces mandatory maintenance contracts for certain installations, with a two-year adaptation period. In Mallorca, with all the self-consumption installed over recent years, ITC-BT-53 is the one that will be felt most. We will tell you whether your consumer unit is affected before anyone obliges you.
