I live in an apartment in Palma, can I get solar panels?
Yes, through collective self-consumption under Royal Decree 244/2019: one rooftop installation can allocate energy to participating homes using agreed distribution coefficients. In Palma, we assess the roof, power, meters and allocation, then prepare the technical documents needed by the owners' association and electricity retailer.
How much does it cost to install solar panels in Palma?
It depends on the power required and if you want batteries. We give you a fixed price from your photos and details, and the installation pays for itself through bill savings. For shared solar, the cost is split among neighbors. We provide a survey and quote. And to give you an idea of what you will actually produce, not what it costs: according to the typical year calculated by PVGIS, the official tool of the European Commission, in Palma every kWp installed yields around 1,598 kWh a year at 35º facing south, so a domestic 3 kWp system is in the region of 4,800 kWh a year. In the worst month of the year it still delivers 61 % of what it gives in the best: the winter here does not switch the system off, which is what surprises people coming from northern Europe the most.
Do you handle solar grants and IBI tax discounts in Palma?
We prepare the paperwork and, with your authorisation, file and justify the applications currently available; you sign the application and the grant is paid into your bank account. In Palma, Article 18 provides a 25% rebate on the resulting IBI charge for the six tax periods after installation, subject to limits and requirements; the application is filed by the IBI taxpayer, with the technical documents we hand over, and the council decides. FOTOPAR depends on an open call (the 2026 call closed on 30 April 2026; the 2027 call takes applications from 26 January to 30 April 2027, to be made before the work starts), and the IRPF deduction is claimed by you in your tax return, with the invoices and certificates we hand over.
