Yes. We do the full plumbing of homes and premises: cold and hot water pipes, domestic hot water, drains, taps and appliance connections, sized to the Spanish CTE DB HS-4. That code sets the minimum flow rate for each fixture: 0.20 dm³/s for a shower (about 12 litres per minute), 0.10 for a basin and 0.20 for a kitchen sink. We size to those figures so the house does not run dry when two taps are opened at once. Both new installation and the renewal of an existing one. And in Mallorca there is a second part the code doesn't cover: the hard water blocks pipes and ruins taps and water heaters, so during the works we leave the space and the connections for a water softener ready even if it isn't fitted on day one. Adding it later means breaking tiles.

Yes. The Spanish CTE DB HS-4 requires at least 100 kPa (1 bar) of pressure at ordinary taps and 150 kPa (1.5 bar) at water heaters, and forbids exceeding 500 kPa (5 bar) at any point of use. Below that minimum a pressure set is not a luxury: the installation simply does not comply. Above 5 bar what you need is a pressure reducer, because that pressure destroys taps and flexible hoses. We measure the pressure before deciding anything, and we fit and repair pressure sets and water pumps for the boreholes, wells and tanks of Mallorca's country houses, including submersible pumps.

Yes. EMAYA, the Palma water utility, describes its water as hard to semi-hard depending on the area and the time of year, and publishes no single figure: every street has its own. According to the official SINAC bulletins, most mains networks in Mallorca are above 30 ºfH (Palma, 35-38) and some exceed 100; our own measurements show values just as high, and well water runs at around 60 ºfH. As installers, from about 15 ºfH we already see scale in water heaters and taps, and Daikin's manual for its EKHHP hot-water heat pump asks for water above 30 ºfH to be treated. That limescale eats taps, water heaters, appliances and pipes. We always measure the hardness of your water before proposing equipment: without measuring you cannot size a softener.

There is a test you can do yourself: close every tap, make sure no appliance is using water, and watch the meter for a few minutes. If it keeps moving, there is a leak. Then close the stopcock of the house, the one after the meter: if the meter stops, the leak is inside your installation; if it keeps going, it is on the stretch between the meter and that valve. If you are losing water inside the house and the pipe is built into the wall or buried, what we propose in Mallorca is to renew that section with new pipe: finding the exact spot often means breaking walls or floors, and it costs more and takes longer than running new pipe. We test the new installation as Spain's CTE DB HS-4 requires (section 5.2.1.1): a mechanical strength and watertightness test, with a pressure gauge that reads to at least 0.1 bar. Small leaks count too: a toilet cistern that never shuts off or a dripping tap shows up on every water bill.

Yes. We install hot water production with an electric tank and, above all, with aerothermal heat pumps, which is the most efficient option. The Spanish CTE DB HS-4 (section 2.1.3) requires hot water to reach the point of use between 50 and 65 ºC, and exempts installations in buildings used solely as housing, provided they do not affect the outside environment. In a home we still set it within that band: below it there is a health risk, above it you scald and waste energy. With Mallorca's hard water that band matters even more: the higher you leave it, the sooner limescale builds up in the tank or the heat exchanger, and a scaled-up unit heats worse and costs more every month that passes. Yes: taps, toilet cisterns, water heaters, booster pumps and water pumps in homes and businesses all over Mallorca. A useful clue: if the booster pump starts on its own every so often with all taps closed, there is almost always a leak in the installation, a cistern that does not shut off or a non-return valve that does not hold, and the pump is making up the pressure that is being lost.
