Heat pumps in Andratx,
from the villa to the village house.

We're Joaquín and Juan, and in Andratx we fit them in everything: a design villa with sea views in Port d'Andratx or Camp de Mar, a stone village house in s'Arracó or Andratx, an apartment on the coast. One single heat pump gives you heating, air conditioning and hot water —and if you've got a pool, it heats that too— and you're done with oil. Heat pumps for your home in Andratx

Andratx has two worlds within a few kilometres: the design coast —Port d'Andratx, Camp de Mar, Sant Elm— with modern villas, sea views and pools; and the valley —Andratx and s'Arracó— with traditional stone village houses. A heat pump fits both, and almost always against the same thing: expensive oil, bottled gas or electric heating.

Design villas: keeping the unit out of sight

In Port d'Andratx and Camp de Mar it's contemporary villas where the look is everything. There what matters is where we place the outdoor unit so it doesn't show up on the terraces or by the pool: a side return, a service courtyard, a lower part of the garden, with the pipes hidden. We size a powerful heat pump that climate-controls the house and, if you want, the pool too.

Stone village houses in the valley

In s'Arracó or Andratx, the thick-walled stone houses hold a very stable temperature, and a heat pump brings them up to modern comfort without losing their character. If there's a refurbishment, we fit underfloor heating; if not, we use low-temperature emitters. Goodbye to the oil tank and the gas bottles.

By the harbour, materials that handle the salt

Near the harbour and on the seafront the salt air is harsh. So we carefully choose where the outdoor unit goes, mount it on a properly finished base and check it at the annual service. A small detail on fitting day that saves you trouble for the whole life of the unit.

Straight talk

What we run into in Andratx every week

We're Joaquín and Juan, and in Andratx three very different scenes keep coming up. Here they are, plainly.

The villa with views where the unit can't be seen

In a Port d'Andratx villa, the client tells us the same thing: the unit can't appear in the picture. We study the plot, find the most discreet corner, route the pipes out of sight and leave the outdoor unit hidden. The house gains full climate control and hot water, and the views stay intact.

The s'Arracó stone house that ran on bottled gas

A village house in s'Arracó or Andratx heated with gas bottles and an electric water heater: expensive, awkward and cold in winter. We swap it all for a heat pump with underfloor heating during the refurbishment so it can operate at a lower water temperature. Performance and savings are calculated from the insulation, emitters and the home's actual use.

The coastal apartment used only in summer

Many Camp de Mar apartments run from May to September. A heat pump gives them the summer air conditioning and hot water through one integrated system, and we leave it programmed so the flat is comfortable when you arrive. If you close it for half the year, you control it from your phone.

Answered

Common questions about heat pumps in Andratx

I have a villa with views in Port d'Andratx, where do you put the outdoor unit so it doesn't spoil the look?

It's the question on nearly every design villa in Port d'Andratx. We find the most discreet spot —a side return, a service courtyard or a lower part of the garden— so the outdoor unit isn't visible from the terraces or the pool, route the pipes out of sight and leave the unit tucked away. The views stay untouched.

Can the heat pump also heat my pool?

Yes, with the right design. For dedicated pool heating we use a pool heat pump such as the Daitsu Coral II, sized by water volume, target temperature and season. Its published range covers models for 18-35 m³ through to 90-170 m³, with stated operating and sound figures that vary by model. Solar self-consumption and Smart Grid control can prioritise heating during solar-production hours, but running cost still depends on weather, setpoint, pool cover and usage. Figures from the official Daitsu catalogue 2024-25.

My stone village house in s'Arracó or Andratx has no gas, does a heat pump work well?

It can work very well when it is sized after checking insulation, emitters and heat demand. In many village houses it replaces oil, bottled-gas or direct-electric heating. If the home is being refurbished, underfloor heating lets the heat pump operate at a lower water temperature; actual savings depend on the building and how it is used.

Near the harbour, can the unit handle the sea salt?

It can, if it's planned. Near the harbour and on the seafront we choose the position so the salt spray doesn't hit it head-on, mount it on a properly finished base and check it at the annual service. That's how it lasts without surprises by the sea.

Can I combine the heat pump with solar panels?

Yes. Solar self-consumption can cover part of the heat pump's electricity use when generation and demand coincide; the share depends on system size, orientation, operating hours and whether there is a battery. We design both systems together and, where the equipment supports Smart Grid or Modbus RTU control, can prioritise operation during solar-production hours.

Do you handle the grant paperwork?

Yes. Heat pumps qualify for the FACTOR 2026 call from the Balearic Government (up to 70% of the cost for individuals, open since July 2026, first come first served until the funds run out) and for the income-tax (IRPF) deduction for improving your home's efficiency. We prepare and file all the documentation; you just sign. The award is up to the authorities, but the work of applying is on us.
