Solar panels in Mallorca
How self-consumption, batteries and payback work, in detail.
See the full guide →Solar panels · Llubí
In Llubí we install solar panels and self-consumption, with or without batteries, on village houses and on fincas across the municipality. We are an authorised low-voltage electrical installer: study, installation, legalisation and the paperwork for the IBI, the ICIO and the grants, with no middlemen.

Your area
Llubí is one of the small municipalities of the Pla: 34.9 km² and 2,600 residents, 429 of them in country houses according to INE's Nomenclátor (2025). The village lies below 100 metres of altitude, on open ground.
Two-storey houses with a tiled roof and a back yard: the usual thing is to put the panels on the south pitch or on the roof of the rear porch, where they can't be seen from the street. The inverter goes indoors, close to the consumer unit.
In the Llubí countryside there are houses with a well, irrigation and sometimes a pool. With room on the ground or on an outbuilding, the panels face south at their proper tilt and are sized for the pump and for the house.
Llubí's IBI rebate distinguishes by use: 50% for residential and 25% for the rest. And it has a yearly cap tied to the cost of the installation. That's why the itemised quote and the invoice have to be clear: they are the documents you apply with.
In numbers
In Llubí, PVGIS (European Commission, query of 1 Oct 2026, 35° south, 14% losses) gives about 1,534 kWh a year per kWp, against 1,572 in Palma: 2.4% less. Three kWp produce around 4,600 kWh a year.
July: 158 kWh per kWp. December: 96. The ground is flat and there is no relief to take the sun away; what needs looking at is nearby shade.
On top of the saving on the electricity bill comes the IBI rebate: Llubí's bylaw (BOIB no. 15 of 4 February 2020) takes 50% off the residential property tax.
Grants
IBI (property tax): Llubí's bylaw (BOIB no. 15 of 04-02-2020) gives a rebate of 50% of the tax for residential use and 25% for other uses, with no number of years set in the text and with a yearly cap of 20% of the cost of the installation. The same bylaw gives a separate rebate to properties with an A (50%) or B (25%) energy certificate.
ICIO (building-works tax): the bylaw (art. 4.5, BOIB no. 10 of 20-01-2018) gives a 50% rebate on energy-efficiency works, panels included. Before you apply we'll check that both bylaws are still in force as they stand.
FOTOPAR: the 2026 call closed on 30 April 2026; the 2027 call runs from 26 January to 30 April 2027 or until its €2 million run out, is applied for before work starts and requires a home address in the Balearic Islands. FACTOR 2026 covers batteries (45%, until 28 February 2027), not a private individual's panels.
If the system is paid for and finished in 2026, the self-consumption income-tax deduction (DA 62ª) is 10%, up to €500. Income-tax (IRPF) deductions are claimed by you in your Spanish tax return, using the invoices and certificates we hand over.
We prepare the paperwork and, with your authorisation, submit the grant application and, afterwards, the proof of expenditure; you sign the application and the grant is paid into your bank account. The authorities decide whether it is awarded.

How we work
With an electricity bill, photos and the location we use PVGIS to calculate what you'd produce in Llubí and what output fits your consumption.
We file the prior notification, install, and legalise the self-consumption (RD 244/2019) with the electrical installation certificate.
We hand you the itemised quote, the invoice and the technical documents Llubí Town Council requires for the two rebates.
Common questions
Llubí's IBI bylaw (BOIB no. 15 of 04-02-2020) gives 50% off the tax for residential use and 25% for other uses, with no set number of years and with a yearly cap of 20% of the cost of the installation. We'll check the bylaw in force for you before applying.
Llubí's ICIO bylaw (art. 4.5, BOIB no. 10 of 20-01-2018) gives a 50% rebate on energy-efficiency works, and solar panels qualify. You apply to the Town Council with the quote for the installation; we prepare the technical documents for you.
According to PVGIS, from the European Commission (35° south, 14% losses), about 1,534 kWh a year per kWp in Llubí, 2.4% less than Palma (1,572). July gives 158 kWh per kWp and December 96. With 3 kWp that comes to around 4,600 kWh a year.
They are different things: IBI and ICIO are Llubí's municipal taxes; FOTOPAR 2027 (from 26 January to 30 April 2027, before work starts) is a Balearic Government grant, and the income-tax deduction (10%, up to €500, if paid for and finished in 2026) goes in your tax return. What is subsidised is usually deducted from the base of the others: we look at it case by case.
On a building's roof a prior notification is enough (Balearic Planning Act 12/2017, arts. 148.4 and 153.1.e), unless the house is listed or the structure is affected. On rural land, Act 10/2019 allows self-consumption in lawful buildings. We check it with Llubí Town Council before installing.
We do, as an authorised low-voltage electrical installer. We sign the electrical installation certificate and process the self-consumption under RD 244/2019 with the Balearic Government. That registration is also one of the documents filed for the municipal rebates.
