Your area

Porreres: village, vineyards and fincas

Porreres' municipality covers almost 87 km², between Monti-sion and the Campos plain, and has 5,871 residents; 763 live in country houses, according to INE's Nomenclátor (2025). Of Petra, Sineu, Llubí, Algaida and Porreres, it is where PVGIS gives the highest output.

Village houses

Large village houses, with a tiled roof and often a garage or a porch behind. The panels go on the south pitch or on the rear roof, flush, and if the house is listed the licence is applied for before anything is touched.

Fincas, wineries and storehouses

In the Porreres countryside there are farm storehouses and wineries with large roofs and daytime consumption: cold rooms, pumps, machinery. It is the case where self-consumption is put to best use, because the power is used when it is produced.

Weekend houses

If the house is empty during the week, the system is matched to what stays switched on —fridge, pool pump, treatment plant— and the surplus is offset on the bill. If it uses well or cistern water, the treatment goes into the sums.

In numbers

What a solar panel produces in Porreres (in numbers)

1,555 kWh a year for each kWp: that is what PVGIS (European Commission, query of 1 Oct 2026, 35° south, 14% losses) gives for Porreres. Palma gives 1,572, barely 1% more. With 3 kWp, around 4,660 kWh a year.

July: 160 kWh per kWp. December: 97. Winter gives 61% of summer, a comfortable ratio for a house that also wants to cover part of its heating with a heat pump.

And every kWh you use from your panels is one you don't buy: the saving depends on how much of what you produce you use at the time.

Grants

IBI, ICIO and grants in Porreres

IBI (property tax): Porreres' bylaw (art. 3.3, BOIB no. 180 of 30-12-2021) gives a rebate of 50% of the tax for 3 years, with a cap of €300 a year, for photovoltaic systems only. The amendment published in BOIB no. 104 of 20-08-2026 keeps it the same from 2027.

ICIO (building-works tax): the bylaw (art. 7.1, BOIB no. 36 of 14-03-2024) gives a 95% rebate on the part of the works that corresponds to the solar installation.

FOTOPAR 2027: from 26 January to 30 April 2027 or until its €2 million run out (the 2026 call closed on 30 April 2026). You apply before work starts and it requires a home address in the Balearic Islands. FACTOR 2026 pays 45% of the batteries until 28 February 2027; it does not cover a private individual's panels.

If the system is paid for and finished in 2026, the self-consumption income-tax deduction (DA 62ª) is 10%, up to €500. Income-tax (IRPF) deductions are claimed by you in your Spanish tax return, using the invoices and certificates we hand over.

We prepare the paperwork and, with your authorisation, submit the grant application and, afterwards, the proof of expenditure; you sign the application and the grant is paid into your bank account. The authorities decide whether it is awarded.

Prior notification at the Town Council, installation on a frame designed for wind, and legalisation of the self-consumption (RD 244/2019).

3

IBI, ICIO and grants

We prepare the technical documents for Porreres' two rebates and, with your authorisation, file whichever grant is open.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions about solar panels in Porreres

What rebates does Porreres Town Council give for installing solar panels?

Porreres Town Council gives two. On the IBI, 50% of the tax for 3 years with a cap of €300 a year, for photovoltaics only (art. 3.3, BOIB no. 180 of 30-12-2021; the amendment in BOIB no. 104 of 20-08-2026 keeps it from 2027). On the ICIO, 95% of the solar part of the works (art. 7.1, BOIB no. 36 of 14-03-2024).

How much does a solar panel produce in Porreres?

According to PVGIS, from the European Commission (35° south, 14% losses), about 1,555 kWh a year per kWp in Porreres, practically the same as Palma (1,572). July comes to 160 kWh per kWp and December 97. A 3 kWp system gives around 4,660 kWh a year.

I have a farm storehouse in Porreres: are panels any use to me?

It is usually a good case: a large roof and daytime consumption. In Porreres, PVGIS gives 1,555 kWh a year per kWp. We look at the roof, the contracted power and when the machines run. If you are a company or self-employed, the grant conditions differ from those for a private individual: we look at it with your case.

How do you apply for the IBI rebate in Porreres?

You apply to Porreres Town Council once the system is finished and legalised. The bylaw (art. 3.3, BOIB no. 180 of 30-12-2021) gives 50% for 3 years, with a cap of €300 a year. We hand you the electrical installation certificate, the self-consumption registration and the invoice, which is what is filed; we'll check the deadline in the bylaw in force for you.

My house in Porreres is a weekend home: are panels worth it?

It depends on what stays switched on. With the house empty, power is still used by the fridge, the pool pump or the treatment plant, and the rest is exported and offset on the bill under the self-consumption with surplus of RD 244/2019. Mind the grants: FOTOPAR and FACTOR require a home address in the Balearic Islands.

Who legalises a solar installation in Porreres?

We do. We are an authorised low-voltage electrical installer: we sign the electrical installation certificate and register the self-consumption under RD 244/2019 with the Balearic Government. Those are the documents Porreres Town Council requires for the IBI and ICIO rebates.
