Porreres has plenty of village houses on several floors and fincas with rooms for a lot of people. There the question is not only how many kilowatts of heating, but how much hot water is needed at once and where it is stored.

Village houses on several floors

Three storeys, a central staircase and high ceilings: the heating is split into zones, so as not to heat the floor that isn't in use. The heat pump works with low-temperature radiators, underfloor heating or fan coils, depending on the renovation you want to do.

Fincas and agritourism

With several en-suite rooms, the hot water is calculated on the peak: everyone showering at the same time. The tank and the heat pump's output follow from that, and in guest accommodation the hot water system has its legionella prevention plan (RD 487/2022).

Second home

A house that opens at weekends has to warm up fast and use nothing during the week. The heat pump is programmed and switched on from your phone before you arrive.

Where a heat pump saves in Porreres

Heating water with oil or with an electric element is expensive because each kWh of heat costs a kWh of energy, or more. A heat pump gives several for each one: as an example, the SCOP of 3.72 that the Daitsu Multi-Hybrid declares in its official 2024-25 catalogue. In a house that uses a lot of hot water, that difference is most of the saving. We work with every brand.

Porreres, at around 130 m, is in climate zone B3 of the Spanish Building Code; in January the mean minimum is 8.2 °C according to PVGIS (ERA5, 2011-2020), against Palma's 9.6 °C. The heating is calculated from the thermal loads, as the RITE requires. And according to IDAE, each extra degree means around 7% more: 21 °C is enough.

Grants

Heat pump grants in Porreres

Anyone leaving heating oil behind in Porreres has FACTOR 2026 open, which covers 70% of a heat pump for a private individual. The amount comes from a module of €1,000/kWt at most, with an additional €450/kWt if emitters or pipework are renewed, and does not go above €25,000 per installation. Closing date: 28 February 2027, in order of receipt. Conditions: an SPF above 2.5, a home address in the Balearic Islands and no air-to-air in homes.

If it is a holiday house and your home address is outside the Balearic Islands, FACTOR may not be open to you: tell us your case before counting on the grant. An agritourism business or a company has its own conditions in the rules.

If the work improves the home's energy efficiency and is certified, the energy-efficiency income-tax deduction may apply (works until 31 December 2026). Income-tax (IRPF) deductions are claimed by you in your Spanish tax return, using the invoices and certificates we hand over.

Porreres' IBI and ICIO give a rebate on the solar installation, not on the heat pump: you'll find it on solar panels in Porreres.

We prepare the paperwork and, with your authorisation, submit the grant application and, afterwards, the proof of expenditure; you sign the application and the grant is paid into your bank account. The authorities decide whether it is awarded.
