In Maria de la Salut we install solar panels for self-consumption on village houses and on irrigated fincas, where most of the electricity goes on pumps and motors. We are Joaquín and Juan, a licensed low-voltage installation company: we calculate it, install it and legalise it ourselves.

Your village
Maria de la Salut is in the northern part of the Pla, at around 110 metres above sea level, between Sineu, Ariany and Santa Margalida. It is gentle, open farmland, and the Water Plan lists an irrigation network using reclaimed water here. Where there is irrigation there is pumping, and pumping means using electricity.
A well pump or a reservoir pump works long hours in the sunniest months. With panels, that energy comes from the land itself. It can be connected to the finca's distribution board, like an ordinary self-consumption system, or set up as direct solar pumping, with a drive that runs the pump while the sun is out, without batteries.
Quiet streets, houses of one or two storeys with tiles or a flat roof terrace. Nothing around casts shade. On tiles, flush panels; on a flat roof terrace, a ballasted frame. The municipal procedure is a prior notification (Balearic Planning Act 12/2017, arts. 148.4 and 153.1.e), except for listed houses.
If the house is only used now and then, the panels keep producing when nobody is there. It makes sense for the pool filtration, the water heater or the hot-water heat pump to run then, and for the rest to be offset on the bill.
In numbers
The PVGIS query (European Commission, 1 October 2026; panels at 35° south, 14 % losses) gives Maria de la Salut 1,531 kWh a year per kWp, 2.6 % less than Palma (1,572). A 3 kWp system produces about 4,590 kWh a year.
By month, from about 96 kWh per kWp in December to 158 in July. From April to September, when irrigation is heaviest, each kWp gives between 127 and 158 kWh a month: the sun's curve and the irrigation curve go together.
That is why on an irrigated finca the saving is calculated from the pump's hours, not just from the house's bill: how much power it has, how many hours it works and whether it can do so in the daytime.
Grants
IBI and ICIO: we have not been able to check against the published text whether Maria de la Salut's tax bylaws give a rebate on the property tax (IBI) or the construction tax (ICIO) for solar panels, so we won't give you a percentage: we'll check it with the town council before you decide.
For a private individual, the panels go through FOTOPAR, whose 2026 call closed on 30 April 2026; the 2027 call runs from 26 January to 30 April 2027, with €2 million (BOIB no. 171, 25 December 2025), and is applied for before work starts. Batteries currently have FACTOR 2026 (45 %, until 28 February 2027; BOIB no. 83, 2 July 2026). Both require a home address in the Balearic Islands.
The income tax (IRPF) deduction for self-consumption (additional provision 62 of the Income Tax Act 35/2006) is 10 %, with a maximum of €500, for systems finished and paid for in 2026. You claim the income tax (IRPF) deduction yourself in your Spanish tax return, with the invoices and certificates we give you.
We prepare the paperwork and, with your authorisation, submit the grant application and its justification; you sign the application and the grant is paid into your bank account. Whether it is awarded is up to the authorities.

How we work
Tell us what the house uses and what pumps there are, their power and how many hours they work. With that and PVGIS we calculate the panels.
Panels on the roof or beside the well house, the protection board and, if there is direct pumping, its drive. We install it ourselves.
Electrical installation certificate, self-consumption registration and, with your authorisation, the application for whichever grant is open.
Common questions
Yes, in two ways. With self-consumption connected to the finca's distribution board, the panels feed the pump and the surplus is offset on the bill (RD 244/2019, art. 14). With direct solar pumping, a drive runs the pump while the sun is out, with no batteries and no grid. According to PVGIS, each kWp in Maria de la Salut gives between 127 and 158 kWh a month from April to September, exactly the irrigation months.
About 1,531 kWh a year for each kWp, according to PVGIS (European Commission; 35° south, 14 % losses): 2.6 % less than in Palma. The lowest month is December, with about 96 kWh per kWp, and the highest July, with 158. A 3 kWp home system comes to around 4,590 kWh a year.
We can't say for certain: we have not found the current text of Maria de la Salut's IBI and construction tax (ICIO) bylaws published, and we prefer not to give you a percentage without a source. We'll check it with the town council before quoting. What is certain is the income tax (IRPF) deduction of 10 %, up to €500, if the system is paid for and finished in 2026.
They can be, if there are loads that work all week: the pool filtration, the hot water or an irrigation pump. What you produce and don't use is offset on the bill, normally at a lower price than you pay for it and without the deduction exceeding what you buy from the grid that month (RD 244/2019, art. 14.3). We calculate it with your bills before recommending a size.
FACTOR 2026, from the Balearic Govern: it subsidises storage at 45 % and accepts applications until 28 February 2027 or until the funds run out (BOIB no. 83, 2 July 2026). It requires a home address in the Balearic Islands and does not cover a private individual's panels, which go through FOTOPAR 2027, open from 26 January to 30 April 2027.
