Solar panels in Mallorca
How self-consumption, batteries and payback work, in detail.
See the full guide →Solar panels · Pollença
We install solar panels and self-consumption systems, with or without batteries, across the whole of Pollença: old-town houses, fincas in the Colonya and Ternelles valleys, and villas in the Port and Cala Sant Vicenç. We are an authorised low-voltage electrical installer: survey, installation, legalisation and grant paperwork, with no middlemen.

Your area
Pollença has two very different sides five kilometres apart: the town, tucked between the Serra de Tramuntana and the Calvari, and the coast of the Port and Cala Sant Vicenç, open to the north. Both suit self-consumption, but they are not installed the same way.
On the seafront the tramontana rules. The mounting frame is calculated for wind under the Spanish Building Code (CTE DB SE-AE) and the fixings are A4 stainless steel, because salt air eats ordinary steel in a few years. Many houses in the Port are second homes or holiday lets: there, what matters is producing when the house is full, in summer, and being able to check production from your phone while you're away.
In the houses between the Calvari and the Plaça Major, roofs are usually Arab tile with several slopes. We use the sunniest slope with flush panels so they aren't seen from the street, and size the system to the house's real consumption rather than filling the roof for the sake of it.
On the fincas of Colonya, Ternelles or the Formentor road there's room to put panels on the ground, facing south and clear of the mountains' shade. If the finca is far from the grid, the batteries are sized for the worst month of the year, not the average.
In numbers
According to PVGIS, the European Commission's official tool (queried on 7-Oct-2026, 35° south, 14 % losses), each kWp installed in Pollença yields about 1,515 kWh a year; in the Port, 1,506 kWh. A 3 kWp home system comes to around 4,540 kWh a year.
What sets Pollença apart is winter: the worst month (December in town, November in the Port) gives 55 % of the sunniest month in town and 52 % in the Port, against 61 % in Palma. PVGIS takes the horizon into account, and the Serra de Tramuntana blocks the low winter sun. That's why panel orientation and exact placement matter more here than on the plain.
The saving lies in what you use while you produce: every kWh from your panels is one you don't buy from the grid. So the first thing we look at is your bill and when you use electricity.
Grants
IBI (property tax): Pollença's tax bylaw gives a 50 % IBI rebate for up to 3 years for installing solar energy. It must be requested before 31 March, and each year the rebate can't exceed 33 % of the installation cost (art. 15.4, BOIB no. 175 of 28-12-2023).
ICIO (building-works tax): a 75 % rebate on the solar part of the budget (art. 4.2, BOIB no. 203 of 03-12-2020).
FOTOPAR 2027 (Balearic Government): applications from 26 January to 30 April 2027 or until its 2 million euros run out, and you must apply before the work starts. Applicants must be domiciled in the Balearic Islands: if it is your holiday home, ask us about your case. Batteries can go through FACTOR 2026 (45 %, open until 28 February 2027), but not both grants for the same thing.
If the installation is paid for and finished in 2026, the new Spanish income-tax deduction for self-consumption (DA 62ª) is 10 %, up to €500. Income-tax (IRPF) deductions are claimed by you in your Spanish tax return, using the invoices and certificates we hand over.
We prepare the paperwork and, with your authorisation, file and justify the grant; you sign the application and the grant is paid into your bank account. The authorities decide whether it is awarded.

How we work
With an electricity bill and a few photos of the roof or land we work out how many panels fit, what they'll produce according to the typical year calculated by PVGIS and how much of your consumption they cover.
We install with a wind-rated frame and stainless fixings on the coast, and legalise the self-consumption system (RD 244/2019) with the electrical installation certificate.
With your authorisation we file whichever grant is open, and prepare the paperwork for Pollença's IBI rebate so you can request it before 31 March.

Common questions
Slightly, mainly in winter. According to the typical year calculated by PVGIS (European Commission, 35° south, 14 % losses), each kWp yields about 1,515 kWh a year in Pollença and 1,506 in the Port, against 1,598 in Palma: 5 to 6 % less. The difference is in the worst month, which in Pollença gives 55 % of the sunniest month against 61 % in Palma, because the Serra de Tramuntana hides the low winter sun. Choosing the right orientation and spot for the panels makes up for it.
On the Port de Pollença seafront, yes, if they are installed for it. The frame is calculated for wind under the Spanish Building Code (CTE DB SE-AE), which is the load that matters with the north wind, and on the seafront the fixings are A4 stainless steel, the grade that resists a salty atmosphere. That's the difference between a system that lasts 25 years and one that rusts in five.
Yes. Pollença's tax bylaw gives a 50 % IBI rebate for up to 3 years for installing solar energy (art. 15.4, BOIB no. 175 of 28-12-2023). It must be requested before 31 March, and each year the rebate can't exceed 33 % of what the installation cost. We prepare the technical documents they ask for.
In Pollença there's a 75 % rebate on the solar part of the works budget (art. 4.2 of the ICIO bylaw, BOIB no. 203 of 03-12-2020). It applies to the solar installation items, not to the rest of the works if you renovate at the same time.
FOTOPAR 2027 opens from 26 January to 30 April 2027 (BOIB no. 171 of 25-12-2025) and you must apply before the work starts, but it requires individuals to be domiciled in the Balearic Islands. With a holiday home you may not qualify: tell us your case before you plan the timing. That's just over 3 months to apply, so it pays to be ready beforehand.
We do. We are an authorised low-voltage electrical installer: we sign the electrical installation certificate and register the self-consumption system under RD 244/2019 at the Balearic Government's online office. That gives you a legal installation and the papers the grant and the IBI rebate ask for.
Quality
We work with every brand; in Pollença and the Port, for example, JA Solar or LONGi panels with Fronius or GoodWe inverters and BYD or Pylontech batteries.
