Solar panels in Mallorca
How self-consumption, batteries, payback and installation types work, in detail.

We are Joaquín and Juan and we install solar panels and self-consumption with battery storage across the municipality: the stone houses of the old town, Biniagual, country houses among the vineyards and wineries and warehouses. We are a licensed low-voltage electrical installer: survey, installation, legalisation and grants with one team. We do not subcontract anything.

Your town
Binissalem is the Raiguer at its purest: a stone-built town, the vineyards of the Binissalem designation of origin all around and the Serra de Tramuntana behind. In one municipality you find the terraced village house, the country house with land and the winery that cools and bottles during the day. Each needs a different solution, and the savings come from getting that right.
Arab-tile roofs, small pitches facing whichever way the street was built, and often a façade worth respecting. We check pitch by pitch what it will yield, fix the mounting without breaking the tiles and run the cables inside. If the house is in a protected area, the first step is to see what the town planning allows, before drawing anything.
Space is usually not the issue: you can pick the best pitch or put the panels on the ground, facing south. In houses used mostly in the evening and at night, the battery is what makes the system pay, because it stores during the day what you use when you get home. And if there is a well or a wastewater plant, we count their pumps too.
A winery uses power during the day: cooling for fermentation and ageing, pumps, the bottling line. That load matches the sunny hours, so most of what the panels produce is used on the spot, often without batteries. We size it from the real consumption curve, not a yearly average.
Grants & local taxes
Binissalem is one of the Mallorcan towns whose tax bylaws reward self-consumption. Under its property tax bylaw (IBI, art. 11.4, BOIB no. 172 of 2023), installing solar gives a 25% IBI discount for 3 years, capped each year at 33% of the installation cost. And the construction tax bylaw (ICIO, art. 5.a, BOIB no. 164 of 2016) gives a 70% discount on the tax for the solar part of the works.
Both have to be applied for; they do not arrive on their own. We prepare the certificate and the technical paperwork the town hall asks for, so you can file them.
The Balearic grant, FOTOPAR 2027 (BOIB no. 171, 25 December 2025), is open from 26 January to 30 April 2027, or until the money runs out: €600/kWp for systems up to 5 kWp and €420/kWh for batteries. Because the application goes in before the work, for a house or a winery in Binissalem it is worth applying before fixing the installation date. The 2026 call closed on 30 April 2026.
If the installation is finished and paid for in 2026, with its electrical installation certificate, Spanish income-tax law (additional provision 62) allows a 10% deduction, up to €500. Income-tax (IRPF) deductions are claimed by you in your Spanish tax return, using the invoices and certificates we hand over.
The Balearic government grants require individual applicants to be domiciled in the Balearic Islands: if the house is a holiday home and you live abroad, we check that before counting on them.

How we work
By WhatsApp or email you send us photos of the roof slopes or the land and one or two electricity bills; for a winery, also when it cools and bottles, because that daytime load is what solar covers best. With that you get a fixed price; if we need to see it, we come to Binissalem.
In the old town the frame sits on the Arab tiles without breaking them; on a finca, on the sunniest slope or on the ground. Then we register it with the Industry department as self-consumption (Royal Decree 244/2019), with the electrical installation certificate we sign as a low-voltage electrical installer.
We prepare what Binissalem town hall asks for to reduce the IBI (art. 11.4) and the ICIO (art. 5.a), and the FOTOPAR paperwork: with your authorisation we file and justify it, you sign the application and the money reaches your account. The authorities decide whether it is granted.

Beyond solar panels
In Binissalem, among village houses and vineyard estates, we also handle cooling, electrics and water.
Heating and hot water from a heat pump; with your panels, much of it runs on your own sunshine.

Common questions
Yes: in the old town, in Biniagual and in the country houses, rural properties, wineries and units of the municipality. The system is registered as self-consumption (Royal Decree 244/2019) with its electrical installation certificate, which we sign as a low-voltage electrical installer.
According to the typical year calculated by PVGIS, the European Commission tool, each kWp facing south at 35° yields about 1,562 kWh a year in Binissalem, so a 3 kWp home system produces around 4,700 kWh a year. In November, the weakest month, it still gives 98 kWh per kWp, 61% of July. Winter does not switch it off, which is what surprises people from northern Europe most.
Yes. Binissalem's IBI bylaw (art. 11.4, BOIB no. 172 of 2023) gives 25% for 3 years, capped each year at 33% of the installation cost, and its ICIO bylaw (art. 5.a, BOIB no. 164 of 2016) discounts 70% of the tax on the solar part. You have to apply; we prepare the technical paperwork.
Yes. On the Arab-tile roofs of Binissalem's stone houses we use hooks that pass under the tile without breaking it and a flush mounting that is barely visible from the street. If the house is in a protected area, we first check what the municipal planning allows. It is then registered as self-consumption under RD 244/2019.
Yes. In a Binissalem winery, cooling, pumping and bottling run during the day, while the panels produce, so almost everything is self-consumed and the system can go without batteries. It is registered as self-consumption under RD 244/2019, with or without export, whichever suits you.
FOTOPAR 2027, the Balearic government grant: 26 January to 30 April 2027 or until funds run out, €600/kWp up to 5 kWp and €420/kWh for batteries, and you apply before the works start. If you finish and pay in 2026, there is a 10% income-tax deduction, up to €500. We prepare the paperwork and, with your authorisation, file and justify the grant; you sign the application and the grant is paid into your bank account. The authorities decide whether it is awarded.
