The municipality of Algaida is above all countryside: isolated houses, renovated fincas and three small villages. We fit splits, multi-splits and ducted units with that in mind, with long pipe runs, outdoor units out in the weather and units that also heat. We are Joaquín and Juan, a RITE-registered installer also certified for F-gases: we don't subcontract anyone.

Your area
Almost four in ten residents of Algaida live in scattered homes outside the villages, according to INE's Nomenclátor (2025). And the altitude changes: Algaida sits at around 200 metres and Randa is above 300, already in climate zone C3 of the Spanish Building Code.
A renovation is the chance to do it properly: ducts in a false ceiling in the living area and splits in the bedrooms, or a multi-split with the pipework chased into the walls. It is decided during the works, before the ceilings are closed.
Above 250 m, the Spanish Building Code puts the Balearics in C3. In Randa, the air conditioning unit works more months in heating: it's worth looking at its heating performance, not only its cooling.
In the countryside it is common to have little electrical power. An inverter starts gently and can be limited, and before fitting we check the consumer unit and the supply line: we are also an authorised low-voltage electrical installer.
In numbers
We fit inverter units because they regulate their output instead of starting and stopping, and that is what brings consumption down. The General ASEH09KJCAL, for example, declares a SEER of 9.2 and heating operation down to −20 °C. These are figures from the manufacturer's data sheet; we work with every brand.
IDAE recommends 26 °C in summer and 21 °C in winter, and puts each degree at 7%. The output of each unit comes from the room's thermal loads, as the RITE requires, with your house's climate zone: Pina is not the same as Randa.
How we work
Send us photos of the rooms and of the spot for the outdoor unit, with approximate sizes. If we need to see it, we come.
We calculate the thermal loads of each room, as the RITE requires, and send you an itemised quote.
We fit it ourselves: vacuum and leak test of the circuit, drain tested and the unit running, with the 3-year legal guarantee and the manufacturer warranty.
Common questions
If there is a false ceiling, ducts in the living area and splits or a second unit in the bedrooms is usually the most comfortable; with no false ceiling, a multi-split. We decide it with the drawings of your finca in Algaida and with the thermal loads of each room, as the RITE requires, and before the ceilings are closed.
Not different, but calculated for its place. Randa is above 300 m and is in climate zone C3 of the Spanish Building Code (CTE DB-HE, annex B: C3 above 250 m in the Balearics); Algaida, at around 200 m, in B3. In Randa the unit works more in heating, so we look at its heating performance.
Usually, yes. An inverter split starts up gradually and uses less than an old unit. Before fitting we check the consumer unit, the protective devices and the supply line under the REBT, as an authorised low-voltage electrical installer, and tell you whether the power needs raising in your Algaida house.
Yes. A split is an air-to-air heat pump. In Algaida the mean January minimum is around 8.5 °C according to PVGIS (ERA5, 2011-2020), and units such as the General ASEH09KJCAL declare heating down to −20 °C. In cold, damp weather it runs defrosts of up to 15 minutes, according to its manufacturer: it's normal.
Around 7%, according to IDAE: 26 °C in summer and 21 °C in winter. In Algaida mean August maximums are around 31 °C (PVGIS, ERA5, 2011-2020); a country house with good shade and shutters needs less of a unit.
Whichever is stricter, the regulations or the manual. The RITE (IT 3.3, table 3.1) asks as a minimum, in homes and up to 12 kW, for a service every 4 years, and the manufacturer, for the filters to be cleaned every few weeks. In a country house in Algaida the outdoor unit collects dust and leaves: it's worth cleaning it before the summer.
