We're Joaquín and Juan. The municipality of Muro runs from the village to Platja de Muro, with the s'Albufera Natural Park in between. Village houses, flats and beach accommodation: in all of them, humidity rules. We're a RITE-registered installer and F-gas certified. We don't subcontract anyone.

AEMET has a station inside s'Albufera: Muro-S'Albufera, at 2 m, right in the wetland; its data is on aemet.es. Between the wetland and the sea, Muro’s summer is muggy, and an air conditioner here works as much at taking water out of the air as at cooling it.
In the village there are many two-storey houses with a flat roof or courtyard. The outdoor unit goes on the roof, on supports that keep it off the floor and out of rainwater; the indoor unit on the wall that best throws air towards the room’s door.
In accommodation the units are bigger and the RITE is stricter: 12 to 70 kW, inspection every year, and above 70 kW, every month (IT 3, table 3.1). In flats with a community of owners, before fixing an outdoor unit, the Horizontal Property Act (art. 7.1).
With so much humidity, a split draws a lot of water. The drain needs a fall, a trap if it goes into a downpipe and an outlet that doesn’t wet the façade or the neighbour’s balcony. An overflowing tray or a pipe sloping the wrong way is the drip that ends up inside.
Where the savings are
The RITE takes 45-60% as the indoor design humidity for summer. With dry air you’re comfortable at the setpoint IDAE recommends, 26 °C or higher, and every degree lower you don’t ask for is around 7% of consumption saved. The splits’ “Dry” mode does exactly that: it cools a little and removes water.
A new wall split, for example the General ASEH09KJCAL, uses R32, with a global warming potential of 675 according to Annex I of Regulation (EU) 2024/573. That regulation bans placing on the market, from 2025, single split systems under 3 kg with gas of GWP 750 or more, and from 2029 air-to-air splits up to 12 kW with gas of GWP 150 or more, unless safety requires it.
How we work
Send us photos of each room, of where the outdoor unit would go and of the fuse box. We size the unit with a heat-load calculation, as the RITE requires, and send you an itemised quote; if we need to see it, we come.
We fit it ourselves, under our F-gas certification: vacuum, leak test, condensate drain and commissioning. No subcontractors.
You get the invoice, the 3-year legal guarantee (arts. 115 quater and 120 TRLGDCU) and the servicing the regulations require or, if the manufacturer asks for more, what the manufacturer asks for.

Common questions
It is almost always the condensate drain: a pipe sloping the wrong way, a dirty tray or a blocked trap. With the local humidity the unit draws a lot of water and any fault shows straight away. The tray and drain are cleaned and the fall corrected.
The RITE (IT 3, table 3.1) sets the minimum by output and use: for non-residential use, up to 12 kW every 2 years, 12 to 70 kW every year and above 70 kW every month. If the manufacturer asks for more, you follow the manufacturer. Refrigerant, always by certified staff (Royal Decree 115/2017).
Air conditioning already dehumidifies while cooling and has “Dry” mode for muggy days without much heat. In Palma average relative humidity in July and August is 62-65% (AEMET, airport, 1981-2010), and next to s'Albufera you feel it more; the RITE aims for 45-60% indoors.
Yes. The bans in Regulation (EU) 2024/573 apply to selling new units: yours can keep running and be repaired, and article 11 allows, under conditions, the sale of parts to repair it. If it loses gas, the leak is repaired before recharging.
If the balcony allows it and the community doesn’t forbid it, yes: on brackets, away from bedroom windows and with the drain piped away. The Horizontal Property Act (art. 7.1) requires telling the community’s representative first.
