Manacor: the family car and the workshop van

In Manacor the charger is asked for as much for the home as for the business: joinery workshops, furniture factories and shops on the industrial estate that are starting to switch the van to electric. And they are two different installations, because one charges at night and the other by day.

Units and workshops on the industrial estate

A company vehicle that returns to the unit charges while work goes on, at the very time the panels on the roof are producing. With several points, a collective charging circuit with current control lets you install more chargers than the line could take if they all drew at once (ITC-BT-52).

Homes in Manacor

At home, the usual: a dedicated circuit from the consumer unit, a 30 mA RCD and charging programmed for the small hours. In buildings with a garage, prior notice to the owners' community and a line from your meter.

Porto Cristo, s'Illot and Cala Murada

On the coast there are many seasonal homes. The charger is left regulated to the contracted power, with control from your phone, and if it goes outdoors it is chosen with an IP5X and IK10 enclosure and with salt air in mind.

Where you save

Where the saving is for a business in Manacor

A business uses electricity mostly by day, just when its solar PV produces. If the vehicle is parked at the unit at those hours, charging it on the surplus is the most profitable use of the panels: RD 244/2019 limits the compensation to the value of the electricity bought, and what goes into the battery has no such limit.

With several chargers, the saving is in not enlarging the supply connection: a system that measures the current in the shared circuit shares the power out among the vehicles plugged in.

In a home, charging in the 2.0TD off-peak period: midnight to 8 am and weekends in full.

Rules and grants

Regulations and grants for charging points in Manacor

Businesses: a charging installation needs an engineering project if it exceeds 50 kW, if it is outdoors and exceeds 10 kW or if it is DC charging (ITC-BT-04), and then it has an initial inspection. Non-residential buildings with more than 20 parking spaces have had to have one charging station for every 40 spaces since 2023 (Royal Decree-Law 29/2021, art. 4). We size it and legalise it.

Grant: FACTOR 2026 is not only for homes. For an individual it covers 70% of the charging point, capped at €2,500 per installation, and for other beneficiaries the cap rises to €12,000. Before doing the sums we check with you which percentage applies to your business under the call (BOIB 83 of 2026).

How we work

Your charging point in Manacor, in 3 steps

1

Photos and details

Send us a photo of your consumer unit, another of where the car parks and your electricity contract. With that we can see which connection scheme applies, how much power fits and which way the cable runs.

2

Installation on its own line

A dedicated circuit with its own circuit breaker, its 30 mA RCD and the overvoltage protection that ITC-BT-52 asks for, and the charger set to your contracted power.

3

Certificate and paperwork

We sign the electrical installation certificate and register it with the Balearic industry department. We hand over the documentation and, with your authorisation, file the grant that is open at the time.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions about EV chargers in Manacor

What does a unit on the Manacor industrial estate need to charge electric vans?

A charging circuit with its protections and, if there are several points, a system that shares out the power. ITC-BT-52 allows more stations per circuit when there is a control that measures the current and limits it. At units in Manacor with solar PV, the vehicles charge by day on what the roof produces.

Is an engineering project needed for a company's charging points in Manacor?

It depends on the power and the location. ITC-BT-04 requires a project when the charging installation exceeds 50 kW, when it is outdoors and exceeds 10 kW, or when it includes DC charging; those installations also undergo an initial inspection. Below that, a technical report and an installation certificate are enough.

Is there a grant for a business's charging point in Manacor?

FACTOR 2026 subsidises new private charging of up to 15 kW with a type 2 connector. It covers 70% of the cost, capped at €2,500 per installation for individuals; for other beneficiaries the cap is €12,000. It is open until 28 February 2027 while funds last, and we look with you at what you are entitled to.

Can I install a charger at my house in Porto Cristo or s'Illot that I use in summer?

Yes. It is left programmed for the off-peak period, midnight to 8 am and weekends, and regulated to the power you already have. If it goes outdoors, ITC-BT-52 asks for IP5X and IK10 ratings and protection against corrosion. For the FACTOR grant you need to be domiciled in the Balearic Islands.

How long does a car take to charge on a home charger in Manacor?

At 7.4 kW, which is the norm in a single-phase home (32 A), the car recovers 30 to 40 km of range per hour. In the eight hours of the off-peak period up to about 59 kWh go in. In Manacor homes we leave it programmed to start at midnight and finish before 8 am.

Quality

The charger brands we install

We work with every charger brand; for example, Wallbox, ORBIS Viaris, Simon or the Tesla Wall Connector. What matters is that the unit measures the home's consumption and regulates the charge, not the logo.
